Betty Jean Steinshouer
Betty Jean Steinshouer is the author of E-Reader Planet and A Woman's Book of Psalms as well as Travels with Willa Cather and Red Cloud to Cross Creek, two volumes of poems from the road drawn from more than twenty years of touring as a Chautauqua scholar.
Since becoming a contributing writer to Suite 101 in March 2010, she has appreciated the opportunity to write both evergreen and date-sensitive pieces. "The challenge is to be factual and at the same time to ask the hard questions. In matters of whether we are being told the truth about the long-term effects of the BP oil spill, or whether schools are really committed to providing Safe Space on campus or whether GPS monitors do anything to deter repeat offenders, these could be life or death issues."
